Working with Visit Clare

As an employee of the Clare Tourism DAC under Clare County Council, I have the opportunity to work with the different teams in the DAC. One of these teams is Visit Clare. Here are some of the projects that I’ve worked on with Visit Clare

Visit Clare Website

Website assistance

I have worked on several aspects of the Visit Clare Website. I visited 40+ towns throughout the county to take photographs and drone photographs which now feature on the website. I implemented SEO best practices by sizing and tagging images with appropriate keywords. I wrote topical articles for the ‘Great Ideas’ section on the website.

Given my background in web development, I continue to assist with the Visit Clare website in a development support role.

Microsoft Mail Merge

grants & administration

When I started my role in the Geopark in 2021 I was also assisting the Visit Clare team on the Fáilte Ireland Outdoor Seating and Accessory Grant Scheme for tourism businesses. I filed hard and digital copies of new applications, reviewed applications and communicated with stakeholders.

One of our tasks was to populate and send letters to applicants at each stages of the process. I leveraged Microsoft’s native Mail merge to streamline the process of populating letters, which improved productivity and accuracy for the data being entered.

I currently assist the Visit Clare team with financial administration. I raise procurement orders, file paperwork and finalise supplier payments.
